I had written a bit about differences in perception and whether we could ever know such things, but I decided it was a distraction from the article. Maybe I’ll write a separate article on that someday. The key point here is helping people to learn when the difference in perception or knowledge conceals an underlying problem.

This reminds me of a conversation I once had with my father and brother about how you know whether the color someone else calls “blue” or whatever is the same as the color you see.

A side note: I was reading about Zen meditation soon after my nasal surgery, and in the book’s discussion of breath counting meditations, it called breathing a “universal experience”. I laughed out loud, said “I’m afraid not, guys”, and skipped that section for a while.
